Sitting Bull’s adopted brother and one of the few
Indians for which the army offered a bounty; Gall
was bayoneted by soldiers from Fort Berthold and
left as dead. He recovered from his wounds and led his
people to triumph within the valley of Little Bighorn
where Custer and the Seventh Cavalry were defeated
June 25, 1876.
