"Wa ma laga lisca," Sioux Chief Spotted Eagle
was a fierce warrior, noted for his prowess and
leadership. After the victory at Little Big Horn, he,
together with Sitting Bull, sought sanctuary in Canada.
But as the buffalo herds diminished, continued
resistance seemed futile, the Sans Arcs under
Spotted Eagle went south and surrendered to General
Miles in 1880.
