Tzashima was the wife of the Governor of
Laguna Pueblo. Laguna was established following
the Spanish reconquest of 1692 by members of the
Cochiti, Santo Domingo, Jemez, and Acoma Pueblos,
and remains today one of the most picturesque
traditional sites in the Southwest.
