The first National Mining & Industrial exposition, established to promote the economic successes within Colorado, was held in Denver at Exposition Hall east of Broadway on the end of the road now known as Exposition avenue. Pictured is a delegation of southern Ute with Agent Warren Patten (back row 5th from right), Thomas White (interpreter), and Sevaro (back row 6th from left). The silk top hats worn by the Indians were presented to them as gifts.
