Sacred designs, such as the turtle, were received in dreams or visions, and conferred the animal's protective power to the owner. The Turtle Drum honors the turtle and the protective powers it gains from its shell.

The Turtle Drum is approximately 15" in diameter and 19" tall. It is decorated with feather fluffs, red white heart beads, and horn cover pipe. The drum beater has a green handle with leather wraps, red white heart beads, brass and crow beads and feather fluff. It is approximately 18" long.
