Camp Circle Full Skull Camp Circle Forehead only

Each year the seven Council Fires of the Sioux gathered for feasting, dancing and renewal. By tradition each group - the Mdewakanton, Sisseton, Wahpeton, Wahpekute, Yankton, Yanktonai, and Teton - camped at a certain location. It was the responsibility of the elite Akicita Warrior Society to make sure everyone camped in the right place. This design was their sign of authority.

Each triangle around the circle represents a different group's encampment. The horns are wrapped with hemp. A leather hanger is fastened to the skull with leather wraps at the horn base, Two imitation eagle feathers adorn the center of the skull.

The Camp Circle Design is available as a full skull, approximately 20" x 24", or as a skull forehead, approximately 20" x 22".

Made by Native and non-Native Americans.
