BLUE SPOTTED BUFFALO SKULL
Blue Spotted Buffalo Skull
Full skull Forehead

The decoration on this skull is a typical Crow or Sioux design signifying a continuous prayer for rain; the blue sky and the powerful forces that are in it - primarily the sun and rain. The spots represent rain drops, the jagged lines represent lightning, again signifying rain. Blue represents water and the color tan represents the ground which is the recipient of the rain. The people's survival depended upon sufficient rain for the grass to grow to feed and water the wildlife, including Tatanka.

Four imitation eagle feathers adorn the skull, which hangs from a leather strap. Leather wraps twine around the base of the horn cones. Available in either a full skull or just the forehead. Both are approximately 22" x 26".

Made by Native and non-Native Americans.
