Standing Holy was the daughter of famed medicine man Sitting Bull, a beloved leader of the Hunkpapa Sioux. Standing Holy's striking earrings were hand strung with hundreds of dentalium shells. Note the ornate vest she wears, made of loosely woven strings of beads.
